When “Astonishing Ant-Man” launched last October, readers reconnected with Scott Lang in the aftermath of “Secret Wars” in an unexpected (yet totally expected) place: prison. As newcomers to Scott Lang learned in last year's “Ant-Man” feature film, this size-changing superhero has done some time behind bars. Nick Spencer and Ramon Rosanas' “Astonishing Ant-Man” has put Scott Lang back in the slammer, and kept readers guessing as to what the hero did to wind up in jail.
After many issues replaying the events of the last few months leading up to his incarceration, “Astonishing Ant-Man” #10 ended with Scott finally getting arrested. “Astonishing Ant-Man” #11 picks up in the present day, with Scott in jail, and also provides a recap of the previous year's worth of issues.

Scott spends the issue recapping (see above) what led to his current dire state as well as the circumstances surrounding his arrest and his prison life. Lang is awaiting trial and while the guy pressing charges (Darren Cross) is a supervillain, the public is unaware of that; Scott calls him a “bad guy that's never been caught.” And while Scott managed to take all the heat from his daughter Cassie, who really broke into Cross' facility, he's now facing a number of big charges. It'll take a super lawyer to secure his freedom - and he's got one. It turns out he's been narrating the story…

…to She-Hulk. The last page of “Astonishing Ant-Man” #11 reveals that Jennifer Walters is on the case and will serve as Lang's attorney in the series' next two issues. Scott and Jennifer Walters have a history, as they were both members of the interim Fantastic Four team in Matt Fraction and Mike Allred's 2013 “FF” series.
This isn't the first time we've seen She-Hulk recently, either; Jennifer Walters played a major role in the opening chapters of “Civil War II” where she was gravely injured by one of War Machine's errant missiles in the battle with Thanos. She-Hulk barely pulled through and remains in critical condition, but it remains to be seen how the attack will affect her moving forward. But don't expect to get any hints from “Ant-Man's” storyline; as the issue notes, this “Astonishing Ant-Man” story takes place before “Civil War II.”
The trial of Scott Lang begins in “Astonishing Ant-Man” #12, which hits stores on September 21.
