CBR has exclusively learned that Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt are reuniting for an ongoing relaunch of “The Damned,” spinning out of their acclaimed run on the title from nearly a decade ago that concluded with 2008's “The Damned: Prodigal Sons” miniseries. As part of the relaunch, publisher Oni Press is set to release a remastered trade paperback collecting the duo's first run on the title, set to hit stores in March of 2017.

From the Eisner Award-winning “The Sixth Gun” creative team of Bunn and Burtt, with covers from Brian Crabtree, “The Damned” is set in the prohibition era and follows the unknown sinister forces that control the crime cartels and, unbeknownst to most humans, the trade of mortal souls. Caught in the middle of the demonic forces is Eddie, a soulless mortal, with a “special talent” that bodes very useful to the supernatural predicament. Perfect for fans of properties like “Boardwalk Empire,” “Preacher,” and “Hellboy,” “The Damned” is a unique exploration of religious themes in the context of an era that's caught a lot of attention in the comics world as of late.
