Rumor: 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' May Have the Perfect Villain

Back in January, a (literally) huge villain was rumored for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but a subsequent report on the new characters joining James Gunn's follow-up hinted that the previous story may have been a bit premature. The latest scoop on Marvel's intergalactic sequel doubles down on one of those rumors by potentially revealing the identity of Elizabeth Debicki's character - if true, it opens the door for another major comic book character to appear.

Rumor: 'Thor: Ragnarok' Adds a Little 'Planet Hulk' to the Mix

Typically, we approach rumors with a healthy amount of skepticism, as so many of them ultimately turn out to be false. But the latest report on Thor: Ragnarok echoes a very similar rumor from earlier this year, which reveals how Mark Ruffalo's Hulk is introduced in the sequel and what brings him together with Chris Hemsworth's mighty thunder god. It also suggests that the previously abandoned Planet Hulk story line may have found its way into Ragnarok - if only just a teensy tiny little bit. Potential spoilers ahead, obviously.

'Agent Carter' Has a Hot Take on Captain America's New Relationships

Marvel's Agent Carter has expired in more ways than one after both Civil War and TV upfronts, but don't take that to mean Hayley Atwell will say goodbye to the character just yet. Cap's best gal is still in the loop, and Peggy is apparently none-too-thrilled by Steve's familial choice of Civil War love interest, nor that headline-making comic reveal.

Wolverine Almost Had a Much Bigger Role in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was teased in the second trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, but given that his part was more of a glorified cameo, that little teaser may have felt like a spoiler to some - even though Wolverine appearing in a new X-Men movie is hardly surprising. Hardly. As it turns out, Jackman almost had a bigger role to play in the new sequel, but it was ultimately reduced to avoid detracting from Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique.

Dwayne Johnson Is Officially Shane Black's 'Doc Savage'

Dwayne Johnson has been rumored for Shane Black's long-developing adaptation of Doc Savage for some time now. The director of The Nice Guys has been vocal about Johnson being his top choice, and a recent Instagram post only fueled speculation as Johnson revealed he was planning on filming something with Black in 2017 - that something is indeed Doc Savage, confirmed by Johnson in yet another Instagram post earlier today.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Video Shows You How Quicksilver's Crazy Scene Came Together

The most pleasant surprise of X-Men: Days of Future Past was Quicksilver, the speedy Marvel mutant played by Evan Peters. Although early promo photos made the character look, well, kind of lame, his big action sequence proved to be the best part of the previous X-sequel. It's no surprise, then, that Peters has one of the best scenes in X-Men: Apocalypse, and a new video goes behind the scenes to show you how director Bryan Singer and his crew pulled it off.

'Flash' Season 3 Confirms Tom Cavanagh's Return, But As Whom?

Season 1 of The Flash left an open question as to how Tom Cavanagh would return, his “Harrison Wells” having been outed as a disguise for the Reverse-Flash, leaving it all the more surprising that Season 2 would similarly throw the actor's status into question. That said, Cavanagh has now been confirmed for The Flash Season 3, but which of three (or more!) characters might he play?

'Spider-Man' Animated Movie Will Reportedly Feature Miles Morales

Leading up to the two most recent Spider-Man reboots, some fans expressed a desire to see the Miles Morales version of the web-slinger on the big screen instead of rehashing the same ol' Peter Parker story. It looks like those fans may get their wish, as Morales is rumored to be the focus of Phil Lord and Chris Miller's upcoming animated Spider-Man film - which does make sense, as the project is said to be separate from Sony and Marvel's reboot with Tom Holland.

Takeshi Obata Offers Sweeping Gothic Beauty In 'Blanc et Noir' [Review]

Despite having an extensive catalog of acclaimed works to his credit, from the manga adaptation of famous novel-turned-Tom Cruise movie All You Need Is Kill with Ryosuke Takeuchi (adapted as Edge of Tomorrow), to the manga about making manga, Bakuman, Takeshi Obata will perhaps always be best known for his hit manga series Death Note, with writer Tsugumi Ohba. The operatic supernatural detective story about teen would-be god Light Yagami and his reclusive nemesis L is the kind of breakout hit that most comic creators can only dream of.

The art book Blanc et Noir: The Art of Takeshi Obata makes great use of Obata's work on Death Note --- but it also showcases the artist's considerable range and skill beyond his best known work.

'The Wolverine 2' Rumor May Reveal Interesting New Villain Details

The Wolverine 2 is at least partially inspired by Mark Millar's Old Man Logan comic, but that doesn't give us a whole lot to go on, especially when it comes to the villains Hugh Jackman will face in his big farewell to the X-Men franchise. Narcos star Boyd Holbrook was recently cast as an original villain created specifically for the sequel, with Richard E. Grant set to play a mysterious mad scientist. Again, that doesn't tell us much, but a new rumor may help fill in those blanks.

FX's 'Legion' Will Be More David Lynch Than 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Rumor: More 'Suicide Squad' Characters Could Get Their Own Spinoffs

Recent news of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn spinoff confirms what we already assumed: she's the best part of Suicide Squad. But if a new rumor proves to be true, she may not be the only charismatic member of Task Force X, as Warner Bros. might be considering giving a couple of her villainous co-stars spinoffs of their very own. To be honest, a Captain Boomerang solo movie doesn't seem like something that would ever actually happen, but WB has done wackier things in recent years.

DHX And Dentsu Entertainment Announce A New 'Mega Man' Cartoon, Featuring A Secret Identity And… Mega Mini

Of all the video games that you could make into cartoons, Capcom's Mega Man series seems like it's the easiest slam dunk in the world. It's got everything you want, right down to an extremely toyetic cast of evil villains that have to be defeated by fun and clever ways, and if Archie's late, lamented Mega Man comic series proved anything, it's that you can take all of those elements and turn them into something smart, action-packed and appealing to all ages. And yet, aside from an off-model appearance on Captain N, a short-lived animated series in the '90s, and a couple of bizarre educational PSAs produced by the Japanese tourism board that used to be available on Netflix, there haven't been a lot of attempts.
Now, though, we have one on the way.

Okay So Here's Why Beast Should Be Sent to Prison [Mutant Week]

Our ongoing ranking of the definitive inarguable Top 100 X-Men of All Time brought up a lot of different arguments from our panel of judges. Some people liked Cyclops, some people liked Jean Grey, and nobody could agree on Gambit at all. But the one thing I still get messages about was my comment when ranking for Hank McCoy, aka Beast.

I said “HE BELONGS IN JAIL” and left it there. But why? What did Hank ever do to deserve such condemnation? He's a bouncing blue ball of furry sarcasm, right, Steve, you Yorkshire Monster? How can you even make these sorts of ridiculous claims and keep a straight face?

Okay, fair enough, I should've explained myself properly Here's the case for the prosecution.

This 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Deleted Scene Sounds Like It Would Have Been Great

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters tomorrow (technically tonight for you early birds), and you already have a pretty good idea of what you're going to see in Bryan Singer's latest X-sequel: bald James McAvoy, young versions of familiar mutants, an unrecognizable Oscar Isaac as the titular villain, etc. You've seen the trailers, you get it. But there's at least one scene that we won't get to see - at least not in the theater - and the way Bryan Singer describes it, it sounds like it could have been pretty fun.

Oscar Isaac and Bryan Singer Defend Their 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Villain

Our first real look at Oscar Isaac's titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse wasn't particularly great, to say the least. Featuring a purple-toned En Sabah Nur, that early official photo inspired a flood of jokes on social media, with people comparing him to everything from a Power Rangers villain to Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Apocalypse has thankfully looked a lot less colorful in the trailers released since then, and with the X-Men sequel hitting theaters next week, Isaac and director Bryan Singer have a few thoughts about their villain's aesthetic.

Can Dark Archery Beat Robot Spiders In John Barrowman's 'Arrow: The Dark Archer' Chapter 10?

My understanding of TV's Arrow comes largely from reading ComicsAlliance's weekly recaps. Because of that, I assumed that --- Flash and Legends of Tomorrow crossovers notwithstanding --- it wasn't the kind of show that really lent itself to battles against cybernetic spider monsters. Immortal assassins and hooded vigilantes, sure, but cyber-spiders? That's right out.
But now, I have been proven wrong. In the next chapter of the digital-first Arrow: The Dark Archer comic, Malcolm Merlyn is going to be facing off against a reasonably terrifying giant mutant spider. And in case you didn't know, it's a story co-written by Carole E. Barrowman and John Barrowman, the former Doctor Who star who plays Merlyn on the show, and illustrated by Daniel Sampere. Check out a preview below!

"Arrow" Adding Mysterious and 'Irrepressibly Charming' New Character for Season 5

"Arrow" is actively casting a new series regular for season five who comes to Star City to avenge someone he lost to a violent crime years ago.

Mezco's Green Arrow Figure is One Sharp-Dressed Activist

He might have a TV show and his own comic, but when it comes to action figures, Green Arrow doesn't quite get the amount of love the rest of his DC counterparts do. I can practically count on one hand the number of Green Arrow figures we've gotten in the past few years, which is fairly strange given his presence in pop culture over that same time frame. You'd think it's because there isn't a whole lot left to say about the Emerald Archer in action figure form, but then Mezco comes along and changes the game.
Since its launch, the One:12 Collective has been collector favorite, and the expansion into the rich character roster of DC Comics has only made the heart grow fonder for more. Particularly when they look as fantastic as the all-new Green Arrow. Inspired in part by the current show, the seminal Longbow Hunters and his early 2000s resurrection, the One:12 Collective Green Arrow is as gorgeous a figure as this character may ever see.
