DC Comics announced the eight aspiring writers set to participate in its 2016 Writers Workshop program. After receiving more than 1,500 entries, the chosen eight will enroll in a 13-week course lead by bestselling writer Scott Snyder.
DC's Vice President of Talent Development, Bobbie Chase, said about the Writers Workshop, “We were blown away by the positive response to the DC Writers Workshop program.” She added, “After reading through thousands of entries we're confident this new class of 2016 represent the best and brightest aspiring writers in comics.”

“I'm so thrilled and honored to be teaching this class again. The level of incoming talent is incredibly inspiring, and I'm deeply grateful to DC for giving me the chance,” Scott Snyder remarked.
Former CBR reviewer, Ryan K. Lindsay, is one of the eight writers chosen for the program.
The complete list of the 2016 class includes Owl Goingback (Bram Stoker award winner for Crota, Sealed With A Kiss), writing partners Erica Harrell and Desirée Proctor (writers of MTV's Happyland and The Walking Dead: Michonne for Telltale Games), Al Letson (Planetfall, Imperfect, Peabody award winner for NPR's State of the Re:Union), David Accampo (Lost Angels, Sparrow & Crowe), Aaron Gillespie (LadyDemon, Bionic Man), Ryan Lindsay (Ghost Town, Negative Space), and Tony Patrick (X'ed, writer of short film Black Card).

Several members of the 2015 pilot program of the Talent Development Workshop, which included writers and artists, will have their work featured in an upcoming one-shot comic “New Talent Showcase,” scheduled for release on November 30.
