'Gotham' Season 2 Makes Joker and Barbara Arkham Pals in First Clip

She Is The One! Best 'Sailor Moon' Fan Art Ever

I’ve done a number of these “Best Art Ever” galleries now, and I can say, without hesitation, that this one was the hardest to put together by far. By far. Not because it was difficult scrounging up enough cool art to fill a gallery, but because there was enough amazing art to fill a hundred galleries! I swear, there are people on DeviantArt who draw nothing but Sailor Moon. People who have page after page of fantastic fanart dedicated to ol’ Meatball Head and her friends and enemies. It’s ludicrous how many great takes and redesigns and re-imaginings there are out there, and I know there were probably so, so, so many that I never even saw. Continue reading…

'Flash' Season 2 Casts 'Candyman' Tony Todd as Mystery Big Bad 'Zoom'

We knew as far back as Comic-Con 2015 that The Flash would face off against “Zoom” in Season 2, though even among comic fans, the name didn’t provide the clearest picture of Barry’s new big bad. Now, we at least have a voice in Candyman legend Tony Todd, as well as a few new details on the Venom-like “speed demon.” Continue reading…

In honor of the caped crusaders of the convention scene, ComicsAlliance has created Best Cosplay Ever (This Week), an ongoing collection of some of the most impeccable, creative, and clever costumes that we’ve discovered and assembled into a super-showcase of pure fan-devoted talent.

Though perhaps not the all-out spectacle of its cinematic forebears, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. burns through quite a bit of CGI, particularly in its second season. Season 3's Secret Warriors will undoubtedly bring even more powers into the mix, so take a look at Season 2's VFX reel, including Skye’s Quake-ing powers and some serious spectacle to The Bus’ destruction. Exclusive: Archaia Announces 'Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Dragons'

Jim Henson's The Storyteller is in contention for the title of greatest TV show ever made --- it's basically between that, The Wire, Deadwood, and The Great British Bake-Off. Originally running for just one season of nine episodes in the late 1980s, the show combined European folklore, Jim Henson's muppetry, and respected British character actors like John Hurt, Jonathan Pryce, Sean Bean, Brenda Blethyn, and Jennifer Saunders, to spin standalone traditional tales that, watched once, would stay with you forever. Archaia first revived the brand in 2011 as part of its Jim Henson line, with some of the best up-and-coming creators spinning their own takes on classic folktales in comics form. More amazing creators stepped up to conjure occult yarns for 2014's The Storyteller: Witches, and now ComicsAlliance can exclusively reveal the next installment in Archaia's Storyteller series: The Storyteller: Dragons. Here's What the 'Iron Man' Movie Logo Almost Looked Like

Every time you see a logo for anything, whether it be on a soda can or a movie poster, you are looking at the result of a lot of hard work. Specifically, you’re looking at a design that was reached over time, with a designer and a company going back and forth until they reach a final goal. Any official movie logo is only one of dozens that was created. For those who like to see how this particular portion of the movie sausage is made, a new interview with artist Fede Ponce should prove enlightening … especially when you see how many of his ideas for the Iron Man logo didn’t make the final cut.

Ranger Station Episode 3: Teamwork

With almost 800 episodes over the course of 22 years, the Power Rangers television show is arguably the single most successful live-action superhero franchise of all time, and certainly one of the strangest. Adapted from Japan's long-running Super Sentai series, created by manga legend Shotaro Ishinomori, the Power Rangers combined the giant robots and monsters of their Japanese counterpart with a completely different set of secret identities and problems, and became a pop cultural phenomenon. That's why we're looking back with an in-depth guide to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, including its source material, Kyuoryu Sentai Zyuranger, in ComicsAlliance's Ranger Station!

This week, the Rangers get their weapons and we have an exclusive as we hear directly from a rather surprising actor who appeared in this actual episode!

The Greatest Of All Time: A Birthday Tribute To The King Of Comics, Jack Kirby

Jack Kirby, born on this day in 1917 in New York, is the greatest comic book creator who ever lived. That's not something that I consider to be up for debate. It's something that's self-evident every time that you sit down to read one of his comics — and, more than that, one of anyone's comics on the stands today — and have your mind blown by a driving energy and the limitless possibilities that have always marked superheroes and the medium they defined. The simple fact is that Kirby's work wasn't just great in and of itself, but that superhero comics as we know them quite simply would not exist without him. Continue reading…

Keep Living the Stories: 'Moonshot: The Indigenous Comics Collection' Celebrates Being Aboriginal

In 2014, Toronto publisher Alternate History Comics launched a Kickstarter for an anthology of indigenous comics, with the goal of “showcasing the rich heritage and identity of indigenous storytelling.” The resulting anthology, Moonshot: The Indigenous Comics Collection, Volume 1, is now available, and it presents a unique and much needed look into aboriginal storytelling in multiple aspects. It’s easy, as an indigenous person, to slip into what sounds like hyperbole when discussing a project like this. This is one of the most important comics of the year! But it’s easy for the same reasons that make it hard for any statement to actually be that hyperbolic; the blunt reality of comics as a business and popular medium is that there really aren’t that many aboriginal stories being told, and what few aboriginal characters there are usually employ crude stereotypes. These stereotypes aren’t continued out of any real sense of hatred, but out of the almost complete lack of aboriginal people involved in the telling of these stories. Continue reading…

Mind Your Manners With 'X-O Manowar' #40 [Preview]

I'd like to think that I'm pretty polite most of the time, but I'll admit that I have no idea what's expected of me in extremely formal situations. I mean, it was only a few weeks ago that I learned that there's actually a huge (and sometimes insulting) difference between addressing someone as "your highness" and "your majesty," so in the unlikely event that I ever actually meet a king or queen, I'm going to be at a loss. I do, however, know one thing about meeting royalty: You don't spit on them. Especially if the royalty in question is a barbarian king from the fifth century. Especially if it's Aric of Dacia, a barbarian king from the fifth century who is also wearing a suit of high-tech armor that recently allowed him to defeat an entire alien army pretty much singlehandedly. That's... that's not going to work out well, and it's a hot tip that you could probably share with the cast of X-O Manowar #40, by Robert Venditti and Rafa Sandoval. Check out a preview!
