Marvel Announces 'Avengers: Infinity War' Title Change
Back in May, Joe and Anthony Russo announced that Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 were due for a name change. According to the Marvel directors, the two films were shaping up to tell two very separate stories, and keeping them grouped under the same subtitle would be misleading to fans. This name change became a reality on Friday, with The Hollywood Reporter announcing that Disney had renamed the former as Avengers: Infinity War and scratched the name for the latter entirely.

First 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Trailer Will Probably Hit Theaters With 'Doctor Strange'
James Gunn recently said that we probably won't get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 footage from Comic-Con anytime soon, but what about the trailer? Using logic and a little deductive reasoning, the answer seems pretty obvious. Marvel usually drops the first teaser trailer for a new film about six months ahead of its release date; the Guardians sequel hits theaters in May; Doctor Strange hits theaters in November. According to Kevin Feige, we're probably right about this.
Today In Comics History: The First Appearance of Hal Jordan, Green Lantern!
The original Green Lantern of the 1940s was a guy who channeled mystical "green flame" powers through a talking lantern (and a ring made from metal that he cut out of said lantern), and wore an eye-popping multi-hued outfit that looked like it was assembled by a color-blind tailor on his last day before retirement.

New 'Jessica Jones,' 'Daredevil' and 'Punisher' No Earlier Than 2018?
For as long and Marvel and Netflix have been putting out series, we've had to wonder about release strategy. Two per year has remained the norm; first Daredevil and Jessica Jones in 2015, then Daredevil Season 2 and Luke Cage in 2016, and with Marvel now confirming renewal for the former, as well a Punisher spinoff, it seems all else will wait until after The Defenders.

The Replacements: Hank Pym And The Legacy Of Ant-Man, Giant-Man And Yellowjacket
Since the dawn of the Silver Age, legacy characters have been a staple of superhero fiction, and having a new character step into a well loved role can open up new opportunities for writers and artists to tell different kinds of stories. In The Replacements, we'll look back at the notable and not-so-notable heroes and villains to assume some of the most iconic mantles in the superhero genre.
Hank Pym has been many things throughout his career, and he's a man of many names. He started out as Ant-Man, and shortly after joining The Avengers he became Giant-Man. He created the Yellowjacket personality after being expelled from the group, he went by his own name as Dr. Pym for a while, and he briefly adopted the codename The Wasp in honor of his fallen ex-wife, original Wasp Janet Van Dyne. This week we look at the proteges, successors, and even villains that have walked in the footsteps of Hank Pym.
Muhammad Ali Takes on NECA's Superman, Aliens, Predator and Terminators [SDCC 2016]
A lot of companies bring out the biggest surprises at San Diego Comic-Con, but you can always count on NECA to outdo itself (and most of the competition). This year was no exception, with some incredible announcements and showings like the Muhammad Ali vs Superman set and the rest of the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1/4 scale. And that's all on top of the continuing excellence of the Aliens and Predator lines, which are digging even deeper into the Kenner classics this coming year.
We have to talk about the Neal Adams-inspired Muhammad Ali vs Superman set though. A total left-field pick for an action figure pack, but one that perfectly suits NECA's unique brand of classic cuts mixed with fan-favorite characters. The DC license is a tricky one for NECA, since most of the merchandising is handled by Mattel at the mass market level, but exceptions are made once in a great while, and they tend to work out in collector's favor. With this set, not only are we getting a throwback Superman, rendered in comic-style coloring, but also a figure of the greatest boxer of all time, a even rarer feat. Who will win? Only you can decide.

Watch Matt Ryan Return to 'Constantine' With 'Justice League Dark'
Arrow showrunners made clear that Matt Ryan's crossover return to the role of Constantine was a one-off for Season 4, but in lieu of seeing the actor's take once again, we can at least hear it in the animated Justice League Dark. A new featurette goes behind-the-scenes of the long-awaited adaptation, including Ryan's return as the chain-smoking demon-fighter.

Watch The Trailer For Pak, Colak, Quintana, And Bowland's 'Kingsway West'
I've been excited about Greg Pak, Mirko Colak, Wil Quintana, and Simon Bowland's Kingsway West ever since it was announced. Not only am I a fan of pretty much everyone involved already, but the idea of a Chinese gunslinger roaming through an Old West blasted apart by wars over "Red Gold," a mysterious substance that makes magic happen? That, friends and neighbors, is exactly my jam.
But if you need a little extra reason to get hype for it, Greg Pak --- a man who is always staying on his grind --- has provided. Check out a full-on video trailer below, featuring art from the comic, narration from Pak, and an original Kingsway West-inspired song by Adam Warrock!

'Arrow' Might Still Use Flashbacks After Season 5, Says Producer
Among Arrow struggles in recent seasons, the show's flashback structure has had increasing difficulty connecting to the present, as one Oliver moves toward the killer vigilante of Season 1, and another moves toward the DC hero we know. Season 5 seems to be tackling that disparity head-on, but even as the landmark fifth year completes Oliver's exile, producers say Season 6 and beyond may yet utilize the flashback structure.

Even as recently as a few weeks ago, Whedon was still coming to terms with the failure he felt after Avengers: Age of Ultron opened to backlash from fans. With Marvel bringing in new talent and taking its films into different directions, it seemed the door had closed on Whedon and Marvel ever working again.

For those of us who have been waiting thirty years for MASK, Transformers, GI Joe and a handful of other Hasbro properties to be thrown into the same universe, but it raises a lot of questions about what it's going to mean for the books that have been around for a while once the big Revolution event happens. For the Transformers especially, the franchise at the center of the action, there are a lot of questions about how it all ties together.
Now, with IDW revealing their post-Revolution plans at San Diego Comic-Con, we've got some answers from Optimus Prime writer John Barber, Transformers: Lost Light writer James Roberts, and Transformers: Til All Are One writer Mairghread Scott. Read on for their thoughts on integrating their complicated history into a new universe, the metaphors behind Cybertronian politics, and whether Roberts feels bad for making me cry about Chromedome and Rewind.

From the moment we got our first look at Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad, it was obvious that her take on Harley Quinn would easily be the best thing about the film. A new extended promo for David Ayer's super-villain team-up further makes that point clear, as The Joker's (former?) partner-in-crime takes the spotlight and proves that she's not at all what she seems.

Lionsgate Releases New 'Power Rangers' Character Photos
If you take a look at the official Power Rangers photos released by Lionsgate to this point, it's easy to see the pattern they have in mind. First came a group shot of the cast out of costume, then came a group shot of the cast in costume. This past week, Lionsgate released individual character posters on its Instagram channel for each of the new cast members, as well as a new photo of Elizabeth Banks in her Rita Repulsa get-up. I'm not a betting man, but if this pattern holds, I'd keep an eye out for some individualized photos of the Power Rangers costumes before too long

Best Cosplay Ever: Star Wars Celebration Europe (Day Two)
The first day of Star Wars Celebration Europe was chock full of incredible people decked out in fantastic costumes, but the cosplay contest held late opening night was a sight to behold. More than two dozen entrants dazzled the crowd and judges with intricate costumes for characters both beloved by all and some known to but a few at first glance. The judges certainly didn't have an easy night, but out in the crowd, it was pure spectacle that we could just enjoy. But the cosplay goodness didn't stop there. If you thought day one was full of amazing handiwork, the folks we encountered on day two upped the ante tremendously.
From the original saga, to The Force Awakens, to the animated shows, comics and beyond, these are the best Star Wars cosplays from day two of Star Wars Celebration.

About the moment The CW confirmed Supergirl would fly to The CW (and Vancouver) for Season 2, fans had to wonder if Calista Flockhart's fan-favorite Cat Grant might bow out. We may have an answer, as Supergirl sets Cougar Town star Ian Gomez as Kara's new boss Snapper Carr, a notable Justice League name, but one likely to pull a bit of focus from Cat.

Scarlett Johansson On Why Black Widow Is Her Favorite Role
How do you become a fan favorite as an actor? Easy. Just love the character as much as the fans do. For as much as we enjoy pitting the various comic book franchises against each other, the secret weapon of the films released by Marvel Studios has always been that we honestly and truly believe that the people involved are having as much fun making the movies as we are watching them. And near the top of that list has to be Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow.
