Rumor: 'Thor: Ragnarok' Adds a Little 'Planet Hulk' to the Mix
Typically, we approach rumors with a healthy amount of skepticism, as so many of them ultimately turn out to be false. But the latest report on Thor: Ragnarok echoes a very similar rumor from earlier this year, which reveals how Mark Ruffalo's Hulk is introduced in the sequel and what brings him together with Chris Hemsworth's mighty thunder god. It also suggests that the previously abandoned Planet Hulk story line may have found its way into Ragnarok - if only just a teensy tiny little bit. Potential spoilers ahead, obviously.

Wolverine Almost Had a Much Bigger Role in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was teased in the second trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, but given that his part was more of a glorified cameo, that little teaser may have felt like a spoiler to some - even though Wolverine appearing in a new X-Men movie is hardly surprising. Hardly. As it turns out, Jackman almost had a bigger role to play in the new sequel, but it was ultimately reduced to avoid detracting from Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique.

'X-Men' TV Series 'Legion' Gets FX Series Order With First Photo
Well, even the strongest may not have survived X-Men: Apocalypse's meager opening weekend, but Marvel's mutants will officially have a whole new proving ground on TV. FX has picked up Noah Hawley's Legion for its first season, debuting a first look at Dan Stevens in the title role.

Lash Meets Whip in Spoilery 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 3 VFX Reel
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. might not be the only Marvel series left on TV after the dismissal of both Agent Carter and Most Wanted, but fans may still wait months yet for fresh details on Season 4. The third season finale left plenty to pore over, but head back even further with an impressive (and spoilery!) VFX breakdown for the second half of Season 3!
'X-Men: Apocalypse' Video Shows You How Quicksilver's Crazy Scene Came Together
The most pleasant surprise of X-Men: Days of Future Past was Quicksilver, the speedy Marvel mutant played by Evan Peters. Although early promo photos made the character look, well, kind of lame, his big action sequence proved to be the best part of the previous X-sequel. It's no surprise, then, that Peters has one of the best scenes in X-Men: Apocalypse, and a new video goes behind the scenes to show you how director Bryan Singer and his crew pulled it off.

'Flash' Season 3 Confirms Tom Cavanagh's Return, But As Whom?
Season 1 of The Flash left an open question as to how Tom Cavanagh would return, his “Harrison Wells” having been outed as a disguise for the Reverse-Flash, leaving it all the more surprising that Season 2 would similarly throw the actor's status into question. That said, Cavanagh has now been confirmed for The Flash Season 3, but which of three (or more!) characters might he play?

Takeshi Obata Offers Sweeping Gothic Beauty In 'Blanc et Noir' [Review]
Despite having an extensive catalog of acclaimed works to his credit, from the manga adaptation of famous novel-turned-Tom Cruise movie All You Need Is Kill with Ryosuke Takeuchi (adapted as Edge of Tomorrow), to the manga about making manga, Bakuman, Takeshi Obata will perhaps always be best known for his hit manga series Death Note, with writer Tsugumi Ohba. The operatic supernatural detective story about teen would-be god Light Yagami and his reclusive nemesis L is the kind of breakout hit that most comic creators can only dream of.
The art book Blanc et Noir: The Art of Takeshi Obata makes great use of Obata's work on Death Note --- but it also showcases the artist's considerable range and skill beyond his best known work.
'The Wolverine 2' Rumor May Reveal Interesting New Villain Details
The Wolverine 2 is at least partially inspired by Mark Millar's Old Man Logan comic, but that doesn't give us a whole lot to go on, especially when it comes to the villains Hugh Jackman will face in his big farewell to the X-Men franchise. Narcos star Boyd Holbrook was recently cast as an original villain created specifically for the sequel, with Richard E. Grant set to play a mysterious mad scientist. Again, that doesn't tell us much, but a new rumor may help fill in those blanks.

Everyone Is Hawkman Now: The ComicsAlliance 'DC Universe: Rebirth' #1 Roundtable
DC Comics kicked off the start of its next new era and its next pseudo reboot with DC Universe: Rebirth #1 by Geoff Johns, Ethan Van Sciver, Gary Frank and Ivan Reis this week. The issue contains a lot of shocking revelations that will have far-reaching consequences for all DC Universe titles in the coming months, but was it a good comic, and does it fill its readers with the hope and optimism that writer Geoff Johns had promised?
ComicsAlliance convened a roundtable of critics Elle Collins, Katie Schenkel, Kieran Shiach, and Andrew Wheeler to break it all down and give their unvarnished opinions of DC's new direction. Spoilers follow.
Rumor: More 'Suicide Squad' Characters Could Get Their Own Spinoffs
Recent news of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn spinoff confirms what we already assumed: she's the best part of Suicide Squad. But if a new rumor proves to be true, she may not be the only charismatic member of Task Force X, as Warner Bros. might be considering giving a couple of her villainous co-stars spinoffs of their very own. To be honest, a Captain Boomerang solo movie doesn't seem like something that would ever actually happen, but WB has done wackier things in recent years.

Okay So Here's Why Beast Should Be Sent to Prison [Mutant Week]
Our ongoing ranking of the definitive inarguable Top 100 X-Men of All Time brought up a lot of different arguments from our panel of judges. Some people liked Cyclops, some people liked Jean Grey, and nobody could agree on Gambit at all. But the one thing I still get messages about was my comment when ranking for Hank McCoy, aka Beast.
I said “HE BELONGS IN JAIL” and left it there. But why? What did Hank ever do to deserve such condemnation? He's a bouncing blue ball of furry sarcasm, right, Steve, you Yorkshire Monster? How can you even make these sorts of ridiculous claims and keep a straight face?
Okay, fair enough, I should've explained myself properly Here's the case for the prosecution.

Yup, 'Gotham' Just Confirmed THAT Character is Still Alive for Season 3
It was a busy Season 2 finale for FOX's Gotham, wrapping up the battle against B.D. Wong's Hugo Strange, while introducing the Court of Owls, pitting Mr. Freeze against Firefly, and somehow managing to work a Fish Mooney-mob showdown atop the setup for Season 3. The final moments opened a pretty big can of worms for future villains as well, though at least one sounded deliberately familiar to fans.

Oscar Isaac and Bryan Singer Defend Their 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Villain
Our first real look at Oscar Isaac's titular villain in X-Men: Apocalypse wasn't particularly great, to say the least. Featuring a purple-toned En Sabah Nur, that early official photo inspired a flood of jokes on social media, with people comparing him to everything from a Power Rangers villain to Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Apocalypse has thankfully looked a lot less colorful in the trailers released since then, and with the X-Men sequel hitting theaters next week, Isaac and director Bryan Singer have a few thoughts about their villain's aesthetic.

Here's a New 'Captain Marvel' Rumor, In Case You Were Getting Bored With the Last One
Just a couple of weeks ago, Marvel's Kevin Feige said that the studio will probably reveal who's directing and starring in the Captain Marvel solo film sometime this summer, or by fall at the latest. What followed was a particularly interesting scoop suggesting that the director and lead actor being eyed for the project both share the same first name, which kicked off a bunch of hopeful speculation among fans. Today brings a small but interesting piece of info to add some fuel that particular rumor mill.

Particularly when they look as fantastic as the all-new Green Arrow. Inspired in part by the current show, the seminal Longbow Hunters and his early 2000s resurrection, the One:12 Collective Green Arrow is as gorgeous a figure as this character may ever see.

James Harvey's Colors Breathe New Life Into Frank Miller's Art
Frank Miller is unarguably a legend in the comics industry, and in his own way was responsible for changing the direction of American superhero comics in the mid-'80s with his work on classic characters like Daredevil and Batman. However, Miller's recent output has been met with derision and outright mockery by some fans who see him as well past his prime.
James Harvey of Masterplasty and Bartkira sees things differently, and claims that Miller is as good as he ever was; DC just doesn't know how to color his art to get the most out of it. In a blog post last week, Harvey shared some examples of what he would do if he were Miller's colorist.

It's time for another installment of Pointed Commentary, the feature where grizzled Arrow watcher Matt D. Wilson and newcomer Chris Haley dig into the details of Team Arrow cleaning up the filthy, crime-ridden streets of Star City.
This week's episode sees the team working through difficult emotions following the death of a friend; but they also have to deal with someone going around the city posing as one of their own. "Canary Cry" was directed by Laura Belsey, and the script was by Wendy Mericle and Beth Scwhartz.
